Inspiring The Next Generation Of Scientists And Engineers

Here is a letter of support we received from the Secretary of Education for Virginia.

To whom it may concern:

I am writing to share with you the impact that Twisted Botz has had on the local community and the Commonwealth of Virginia. Although some people might think of them as just a robotics team, they are much more. I see them as the future of Virginia and the nation.

Perhaps the most important contribution Twisted Botz is making is through STEM education. They accomplish this by visiting numerous educational and community events to display their work, and by volunteering their time, effort and expertise to inspire thousands of young people in the local area to get excited about STEM education. While many teams participate in a few outreach events, Twisted Botz makes an appearance at many events statewide.

I have experienced their efforts first-hand at a NASA-sponsored program in Hampton Roads. I was thoroughly impressed with the Twisted Botz and its adult leadership. They are an amazing team. For Virginia to succeed in the coming years, we are going to need more scientists and engineers. Twisted Botz is a team that is working hard to insure that our state and country have the workforce it will need to remain competitive in a global market. We need more students like these team members, and for their efforts, I believe they are deserving of the Future Award.

Yours Sincerely,

Gerard Robinson
